Hi lads,
Last wednesday and this evening we did some working again. Most important things were to prepare the cabinet so we could bring it to my home and get it ready for painting.
First we placed the locks for the control panel so we can open it from the rear whenever needed. For example when placing the RGB lights or when there's a faulty button which needs replacement
And locks for the rear panels:
You can also see the power cable coming out. The LAN cable will also go there later on.
We also made fit the front of the drawer for the keyboard and the mouse. It's a little bit off, but you won't notice when the cabinet front is painted black
Fitting the control panel artwork so we can draw circles underneath and start cutting the circles out.
Overview of the cabinet so far:
The cutting of the artwork appeared to be one nasty job. I did this at home on thursday evening.. But it's done!
Next, my pal started on soldering the connectors for the micro-switches to bigger connectors we then can easily click onto the joysticks:
Wires connected to the joysticks and joysticks in place. Will do the rest when the painting is done.. (connecting to the buttons + RGB leds). Will also cut off the bottom part of the control panel art (practice piece as you can see.
Buttons and joysticks and artwork all in PLACE... yeah!
psssst.. mind 1st button for p1 position
Buttons fastened. Will be finetuned later, when painting is done.. so I can move the artwork still a few mm.
Getting ready for moving the cabinet + monitor + artwork + rest towards my home:
Driving through some mist... ohhhhhhhh
This is where he will go in the kitchen. Placed some cardboard on the floor for the painting later. Will make overview pictures later on btw.
And there it is... waiting for:
- Paintjob
- Glasspanel
- Rear connections
- Sideart
- Marquee glass cutting & corner placement
- Monitor placement
- Computer placement
- Turning the power on!!
Can't wait to get this on!
(imagine a light behind the marquee)
So far the update. Will start painting this week, so more pictures soon lads!
Have a good weekend
