Single Download Mega Packs Rant

Postby bigleaguechew111 » Sun Jan 12, 2014 3:40 am

hey guys i just donated 10 bucks, hoping to get some single download mega packs, but there are only a few! I'm pretty disappointed :headbang: hot trout, can you make some more of those packs? LOTS of systems are missing them. I'll give some examples (developers):

altos computer systems
ampro
amstrad
apf
bally
bandai
bondwell
campbridge university

PLEASE add single download mega packs to these and all the other systems that don't have them. it'll just add to the convenience i paid for.

There are over 500 different systems on this site totalling more than 2300GB in size. If I made rom packs for them all I would need another 2.3TB of storage. We are not a torrent website, everything you see is actually stored on our servers and that storage is expensive, more expensive than a ten bucks donation would cover.

We do our best with what we have, if you list the specific systems you would like a pack for, within reason I will try and make them up for you this week.

We aim to cater for everyone but not everything is possible.

Oh, I guess I never thought about that. You could always put the single download thingies in a .rar format instead of .zip you'll save a good amount of space. Anyway, I'll give a list of manufacturers. don't worry, most of them are in the kilobyte/megabyte range.

apf
bally
bondwell
cambridge university

Hello hot trout

any chance of a mega drive / genesis mega_download pack?

Is there anything we users can do to help get you some increased server storage?
i will make another donation end of this month.

I'll help any way i can.

Actually I am about to pull the trigger on a new monster server, it will cost us over $1500 to setup and then approx. $280 a month for basic rent. That said it will be a 6TB Raid10, 32GB, Dual Quad Core Xeon Monster with 100MB Unlimited link.

Every donation you make will help, currently we are well short of the amount needed but I am going to foot the bill myself and hope to recoup during the year.

Geez man, thats a monster of a server for roms and emulators.

I'd put the unlimited user donation up by another £5, may help recoup your costs a bit quicker. XBOX Live do it... so why can't you eh ;-) lol

"Mo' Server = Mo' Money" :-D

you'll get a donation from me on Friday. Keep up the good work. Takes a lot to keep over 30 years worth of arcade / console gaming alive. Much respect.

I would love to have a GBA mega pack. I had my secondary hard drive crash and I have lost everything I had on that drive. That was a little over 750GB of data I lost. I am grabbing only what I would play now. :?:

I would like a GBA mega pack, too. Hey, and can you make one for the Apple Macintosh?

Sorry for the delayed response, it's just been a while.

Thats ok, I will add some more megapacks later in the year. Right now I am working on the new website code and I need to finish that first. Bump this badboy in the future to remind me.
