Greetings from the mystical Land Down Under to all fine people at TOC. :hi:

I hardly ever register at rom site forums (only once before), but after recently stumbling upon TOC I was so impressed by the place that I felt compelled to sign up - not just for all of the great gaming materials on offer, but hopefully for some forum action, too.

Cheers,
Hiero

Hiero,

A very warm welcome to you. You have hit the nail on the head about TOC. We are not just some 'rom' site. We are a small community (most of the 80,000 members just pass through) of retro gaming and computer collecting freaks. Age varies from 16 to 70 and I am 40.

Sometimes the forums are hot with posts, other times it is quiet. Crusty (our one man welcoming aprty and general all round decent bloke) is currently not on but normally he will be saying hello and making you feel welcome.

I will now open the floor for the other regulars to say hi. Good to have you on board.

Thanks for welcoming me! This really is a very nice place!

@ Hot Trout:

I know how it is with people just passing through. It can be a pretty fickle old internet sometimes. I've been a mod and admin on a MAME help site for the past four years and I guess it's much the same there as anywhere else; a small core group of regulars and a huge load of passersby. The vast majority take the money and run. It's all good, though. It bothered me in the beginning but I've long since learned to accept it. Every now and then you're lucky enough to get a kind soul who wants to give something back and ends up staying. That makes it worthwhile.

@ PMJP:

Good call mate. That sounds like a cool topic for the "Support with Emulators" forum so I'll share any thoughts that occur in there.
