Super Metriod

My favorite Super Nintendo game is Super Metroid because it has good graphics, good music, good weapons, good items, and good game play.

That's true :) All of them are great games. What do you think about the 3DS version?

While I adore Super Metroid (and I do) I may be in the minority who prefer the NES original.

My reasons are that I think it has a far more dark and lonely atmosphere. Super Metroid captures that feel incredibly well, but there's something desperate about playing Metroid.. having no map to guide you. You're lost and alone on a planet where EVERYTHING wants you dead. It's that claustrophobic feel that really makes it shine for me, and what the most recent Metroid games (Prime 3 included) have been lacking.

I like Super Metroid, but I'd have to say that Metroid Fusion has encroached on the best Metroid game from the series for me. Still great games, was playing Super Metroid a few days ago in fact. :p
