Old Hotel Computer MUST KNOW

Hi guys, I am hoping you can help me. I sort of remember when I was a kid we once stayed at the Royal York hotel in Toronto. The suite had a computer / scheduling assistant. I would die to know what it was exactly, I just can´t recall any details except for these:

- Was sometime between 1983-1986
- Desktop style all-in-one design, possibly beige
- Monochromic screen
- may have been called or have a software installed called “Reminder“
- had a picture and text adventure game, in one instance the words were “hazard, the room is shrinking“

I would be glad to hear if anyone may know more about this system / software installed.
:anyone:
Thanks so much!

It probably some type of termial computer, tied in with other termials in other rooms, I may be stating this incorretly as I am not exactly sure of how it would be set up.

Do you remember if it looked somewhat like this?:

A couple of suggestions:

1. Have you contacted The York Hotel to see if anyone may remember this system?

2. (this one is a long shot) Have you done a search for the phrase "The room is shrinking"?

Thanks for the preliminary answers, to crustyasp46, no I think
the terminal was a bit bigger, more upright and possibly with a more boxy looking
screen, not sure anymore because it must have been between 1980-1983 or so.
I think one was able to order things on it from the hotel, like room service but it also had
a calendar function and the game I described previously. Gosh, I feel old now not remembering.
Quite likely it had a monochromic amber screen with basic ASCII text/graphics. I am almost
certain it was a sort of all-in-one design, dare I say Apple Macintosh? But that I would have
remembered for sure...hmmmm.

I do remember "reminder" quite vividly. And the adventure game. And the room-shrinking hazard...

RRichi, I did not contact the hotel but am certain given the average age of hotel personnel that
the person who may remember would be about 85 years old by now :-& but thanks anyway
Perhaps if anything it may have looked a bit more like this> Image
Hmmmmmm. Anyone else?

May I suggest that you try this site. Possibly seeing pictures of some of these old computers will give your mind a little kickstart. :)

Hopefully, it may help. The information you give seems to me it was some time of terminal tied to a main computer. :?: :?:
