What's your Mechwarrior story?
I used to watch a friend play Mechwarrior1 when I was a wee lad. I really liked the pictures of the mechs with damaged/destroyed sectors, and all the different weapons.
Mechwarrior2 was the first one I played myself. And play I did ALOT, using only the keyboard. I'll never forget the sound(track) which adds so much to the atmoshere. I also find that the graphics have a kind of a futuristic style and leave so much open for imagination.
Mechwarrior 2 Mercenaries is amazing too. With the lighting, particle effects and textures. Not to forget the huge amount of mechs and the advanced campaign game mode.
I somehow missed out on Ghost Bears Legacy back then, and am playing it now.
I don't think Mechwarrior 3 counts as retro just yet, but it just blew me away when it came out. Games were moving forward in leaps back then. The expansion Pirate's Moon wasn't sold here, so I'm replaying that too now.
