Texas Instruments TI-99/4A Help

Postby Doink317 » Thu Apr 12, 2012 4:37 am

I stumbled upon a Texas Instruments TI-99/4A Computer not to long ago, and I'm having some problems with it. It appears to power on just fine when I plug it it and everything, but when I plug the RF Video Modulator into the TV and turn on the Computer, it just pops up a black screen and makes a hissing noise. I don't know if that means the Video Modulator is bad, or I'm just doing something wrong here, or what. If the video modulator doesn't work, how could I go about purchasing a replacement one?

Any help is much appericiated!

Thank you very much!

It sounds like the RF modulator is faulty, hissing just means that the TV can not pick up a signal. If you are able to you should try and borrow a working one.
