Old computer games, old computer programs, old computer stories, old computer jokes, old computer related material of any kind.

Basically anything to do with old computers :D

The title of the website , sorta gives it away slightly ;)
Is Life some kind of dream? If so, who's is it, and are they enjoying it?

This may be a dumb question, But I'll wade in anyway. The question is, if I were to download a rom for a C64, is there a way to use it on the actual system, or is it a matter of searching for a printed copy of a program and entering it that way. I hope this is understandable. :?

That is actually a good question. This can be done, but it relys on the original dump of the rom being raw or unmodified. Then you need a way to convert or store it back to the format in question. Tape, Disk, Cart etc. You can also do this via company's that provide interface hardware for the original devices. For example to connect your old Amiga 3.5" Floppy to a PC.

This is a huge topic and one with a lot of information out there on Google for you to search and read. I am only quickly touching the surface here.

thanks again, I've been on google and i am narrowing the how to down, I think sometimes the grey matter is trying to catch up with the grey hair, getting awfully thinned out.

*EDIT by Kherr - Double post* (Just helping you out bud. Don't think you did much wrong... nothing a little mod magic can't fix. :D)

OK, enough, I've found truckloads, shiploads and warehouses full of stuff, now i have a headache, and figure out where to start. I really envy you guys that can make sense of this stuff out there. I am still in preschool :!:
