MW3 Monthly Charge...

So I've been hearing mixed things about this "monthly fee" that activision are planning on doing with the latest installment of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3. I've heard that they are planning on charging anywhere between 5 and 9 USD per month to play MW3 online. I've also heard that this fee does NOT apply to playing online but rather to the new Call of Duty Elite service available for free from Xbox Live Arcade, but as a premium version of the program. Call of Duty Elite is like Halo: Waypoint. It keeps track of all of your stats and individual weapon kills, achievement progress, etc. The premium version will keep track of more than just these few things mentioned, and weapon kills is part of the premium plan.

Whether or not any of this is true I'm none the wiser, but if anyone knows anything, we'd all love to know.

What's your opinion on this? I think it's BS, but it's where games are headed nowadays. >.>'
