i'll do my best to help you
. First, we'll need to know what Operating system(s) you will be using to run the emulators.

excellent!! as for an Amiga emulator, i suggest WinUAE. it is a very powerful and accurate Amiga emulator that is very customizable and can emulate just about all Amiga computers. you can find the latest version here:
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/emulators ... WIN/WinUAEnow, you will need the Kickstart roms to use with WinUAE. i'll PM you with a url where you can get them.
as for the ZX81, i've never an emulator for this computer so i can't suggest one over another. but you can find the emulators for it here:
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/emulators ... ectrum/WINyou will also need some software to run in the emulators. you can find them here
Amiga Software
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/roms/inde ... dore/Amigaand
ZX81 software
http://www.theoldcomputer.com/roms/inde ... clair/ZX81i hope this helps you in your quest for emulation bliss.

i'm in no means an expert about emulators, but i'll tell you as much as i know.
as far as storing the emulator(s), that depends on the emulator. some emulators require you to install them on to a permanent storge device like any other computer program ( usually a hard drive of some sort. but i've also installed programs on to removeable devices like USB flash drives before. as long as the removeable device is attached to the computer when you want to run the emulator, you shouldn't have any problems ). other emulators don't require an installation of any kind. just decompress them with what ever decompression program is your favorite, place them on any drive and in any folder you want and have fun. WinUAE is one example of an emulator that requires installation to a hard disk. after it is installed you can run it like any other program. i hope this is helpful.

you will need a decompression program. i highly recommend 7Zip. it is a great program for decompressing compressed files. plus, it's completely FREE!!!!!
just go to the following url, download either the 32-bit installer or the 64-bit installer (depending on if you are using 32-bit windows or 64-bit windows), install 7zip, then decompress any files you want.
- Code: Select all

thanks for your continued help; i'm at a loss as to which ROMs to download now-there seems to be multiple ones for the same game, all with a slightly different title......
Is there anywhere on the site that'll take me through this step by step?
i really don't know what to do & i'm worried i could mess it up & become frustrated & not get the full benefit from such a great site.
