Triforce Emulation question

Postby SE7EN » Fri May 03, 2013 3:11 am

With the new addition of Triforce roms to the site, I had posted a question in the new roms thread. Not getting an answer, I have decided to go ahead and make a new thread about it in the appropriate forum :) Now for the question: With Triforce roms, I need an emulator, but which one? MAME has a bios labeled 'triforce' but from what i understand, it cannot emulate the roms currently. The only viable option is Dolphin, as it can emulate GC roms, and they are very similar. The main 'stable' release of Dolphin cannot run Triforce roms, but there exists a branch that can run some of them. I have found some releases of this branch, but they are pretty old, and not having the knowledge to compile source code, I am unable to make my own. Can someone help me locate the newest working version of the Dolphin-Triforce emulator for Windows? preferably 64bit.

running Windows 8 x64, Intel i7 2600k + Nvidia 560Ti. -these shouldn't matter, but some people make ICC optimized builds, builds that require certain SSE levels, and some that even favor Nvidia or AMD. I match any hardware requirement, except an AMD gpu/cpu for specialty builds.

If you have an actual Wii, you should get Quad Force v2.0.
Quad Force allows you to run the Triforce arcade games Mario Kart GP, GP 2 and F-Zero AX on a Wii from an SD card. It can not run any GameCube games. No other Triforce games are supported or will be in the future.

Quad Force v2.0 Changelog:
*Added F-Zero AX support
*Added cheating/debugging support, requires sd:/sneek/kenobigc.bin
*Added patch for MK1&2 and F-Zero AX to always have 1 credit
*quadforce no longer cares about the config version

Enjoy!

PMJP, could we not put this emulator on our site and link to it instead. I dont love linking out to other sites unless it is necessary.
