My brother recently called me and while we talked about video games I brought up the game Y.A.A.C. (Yet Another Astroids Clone). This was an amazing game we used to fill out childhoods playing on a Windows 3.1 computer. Problem is now, since Windows 3.1 was 16bit, it is not compatible on Windows 7 64bit.

Does anyone have some kind of idea what I can do. Im looking into running Win XP in a virtual console and trying it from there.

Here is the link to the game: Y.A.A.C

Hi

A easy way is to use dosbox, Here is a guide (created by Dominus from dosbox) http://vogons.zetafleet.com/viewtopic.php?t=9405

the only problem is if the game your trying to run need share.exe that way won't work. The other way would be to get the drivers from there, and install win3x on a diskimage.

If you need extra help just shout

See, that was the first thing I looked at was DosBox. When I had it all set up, I went to run the game and it said that windows was required. I didnt look much into it.

I tested it on a virtual pc running WinXP and it sure did work. Great game. I wish I knew enough about programming to port it over so it would work on Win7 but alas, I do not. I need to learn some C and to use a HexEditor and reverse engineering. Good thing Im still young right...
