Upgrading MAMEui64?

I want to upgrade to v0.141 of MAMEui64. I am currently running v0.138.2.0 (with GameEx as a front-end). When I started building my cabinet, I didn't realize that ROMs were so MAME-version specific, so I have many titles that are not playing.

I know now that I'll need to get rid of my old games and get v0.141 games. My question is, what's involved in upgrading MAMEui64? I imagine that when I run the .exe, and put the new version into the same folder as my current version, it will overwrite it. But what about about all the other folders ("roms", "cpanel", etc.). I assume that I'll want to keep the originals? Will the new version ask if I want to overwrite each of these folders, and if so, I should say no?

To avoid downloading all the roms again you will need to find the 0.138 to 0.139 upgrade pack. Then the 0.139 to 0.140 upgrade pack. From there on we will have all the mame releases for you to download.

Hot Trout - thank you for the reply. I don't mind downloading all the 0.141 ROMs; that's actually what I want to do (I have an assortment of different versions of ROMs that don't run, etc.).

My question was more about the upgrading of MAME itself - I can't seem to find any info on how to upgrade from the version of MAMEui64 that I have to version 0.141. Do I just download and run the v0.141 MAMEui64.exe, putting it into the same folder that my existing version is in? Do I have to worry about it overwriting any of my existing settings, etc.?

Sorry I misunderstood. I am not sure. I will email the Mame guys and ask the question. I would think that you could just download the new version and install over the top.
